Ceftazidime, a cephalosporin, targets bacterial cell wall synthesis, while Tazobactam, a β-lactamase inhibitor, enhances the effectiveness of Ceftazidime by preventing the breakdown of the drug. This combination is effective in treating severe infections, including pneumonia, urinary tract infections and intra-abdominal infections. |
