DESCRIPTION: | This triple combination is used in the treatment of bacterial eye infections. It works by killing the bacteria or stopping their growth in the affected area. Chloramphenicol is an antibiotic that inhibits bacterial growth by preventing the synthesis of proteins required by bacteria to carry out their vital functions. Phenyl Mercuric Nitrate is an antimicrobial preservative. Polymyxin B is an antibiotic that disrupts the outer cell membrane of certain (gram negative bacteria), and inhibits respiration of bacterial cells. |
